A few weeks ago, I attended Rosalind Koons' lunchtime lecture where she described her artistic inspirations and process. I found it particularly interesting how she made material for her sculptures out of things you would find at the hardware store instead of traditional sculpture mediums. I was also intrigued by the abstract alien world she created and how she drew inspiration from her health condition. I wonder how she gains inspiration for the specific forms and shapes she makes her sculptures in, and how she discovered how to use such unconventional materials to make artwork.
