Dr. Kathryn Cooper is an artist and scientist with a background in physics and bioinformatics. She has always been fascinated by the structure and dynamics of systems, and this interest inspires her artwork. Her art shows the flowing patterns of starling murmurations (the way starlings fly together in large groups). She uses a 19th-century photographic technique called chronophotography, the superimposing of multiple images, to display the starlings' coordinated flight paths.

I am amazed by her work as it captures a beautiful aspect of nature's harmony that the human eye doesn't normally see, allowing us to appreciate the natural world more deeply. I think her usage of chronophotography, a vintage and uncommon photographic technique once used to show movement, is creative and brilliant for this purpose. I also am inspired by how she combines her passion for science and art in her works. Since I am very interested in anatomy and studying it this year, her blend of her favorite area of science and art inspire me to possibly incorporate my fascination with anatomy into my art.

"Out of nowhere"

"Dementor II"

"The chase"

Note: I couldn't find dates for any of these
